What is the Difference in a Clearomizer and a Cartomizer
Cartomizers and Clearomizers are just tanks for holding your ejuice.
Cartomizers
Cartomizers contain the heating coil (atomizer) and the cartridge in one unit. If you remove the rubber tip of a cartomizer and look inside, you can see the filler material wrapped around a tube. The heating coils are inside the tube. Cartimizers are generally larger than a clearomizer and hold more eliquid. Here is a photo of a cartimizer:
Clearomizers
Clearomizers are are usually smaller (holds 1.6 ml of ejuice) than a cartomizer and have a disposable wick that can be easily changed. Clearomizers do not contain the filler material, they have a metal tube that runs up the middle of the tank and the heating coil can be at the bottom or top of the tank. To change the coil in a clearomizer:
- Unscrew the coil from the tank
- Hold the clearomizer at an angle.
- Fill the outer chamber with about 1.6ml of eLiquid (Do not pour eLiquid into the center tube, as it is for airflow )
- Reattach the coil.
For best results wait a couple of minutes for the E-Liquid to fill into to the coil before vaping.
You can also hit on the tank 5-6 times with out the battery attached to “prime the coil”. This will help to get your eliquid into the coil and prevent you from getting the nasty metal tasting
